Please help Actors' Trust to support actors and stage managers.

Since our charity began, we’ve relied on the generosity of people like you.

The life of an actor or stage manager can be rewarding, inspiring, and exciting, but it can also be profoundly challenging. When someone from our community experiences difficulties because of circumstances they can’t control, they need somewhere to turn.

Whether you’re able to give a one-off donation, a regular gift, or a legacy, your support makes a big difference.

Why Support Actors’ Trust?

You’ve probably found comfort in your favorite sitcom, or been moved to tears by a powerful play, but have you ever thought about the actor or stage manager that lies behind the performance? At Actors’ Trust, we believe actors and stage managers make a vital contribution to our society and culture, and they need a safety net when things go wrong.

It’s a challenging industry, with irregular work, physically and emotionally taxing roles, and limited options in the event of injury or illness. Research shows a significant increase in mental health struggles and financial insecurity within our sector, particularly due to the rising cost of living and cuts to the arts. The barriers to entering the profession are growing, especially for people from less privileged backgrounds or minority groups.

Our support is needed now more than ever. That’s why our new strategy, Acting for Impact, outlines our commitment to improve outcomes for many more actors and stage managers. In 2024, we spent over £2.3m on charitable activities, up from £2.1m in 2023, reflecting the increasing scale of the challenge, and our resolve to do more to help. We also enabled over 500 individuals and their families to access support.
