24/7 Mental Health Service for Actors & Stage Managers

We have partnered with Shout, powered by charity Mental Health Innovations, to offer professional actors and stage management in the UK free, confidential and 24/7 mental health support by text message.

Actors and stage management across the UK can text the word ‘ACT’ to 85258 to be connected to a trained Shout Volunteer for urgent support. The service is open around the clock and can help with issues such as stress, worry, anxiety and suicidal thoughts. The conversation, which takes place entirely by text message, aims to help texters to reach a calmer place with a plan to move forward. It will also signpost them to further support available.

About Shout

Shout is a free and confidential text messaging support service, available for anyone who is struggling to cope 24/7.

Since public launch in May 2019, Shout has taken more than 3 million conversations with 1 million people who were feeling anxious, stressed, depressed or suicidal and who needed urgent support.

Shout is powered by Mental Health Innovations, which also runs The Mix – the UK’s leading digital support service for under 25s.
