Our Spotlights and Shadows research found that 93% of actors and 86% of stage management professionals have little to no savings to cover unexpected costs or emergencies. Worryingly, 24% of actors and 18% of stage management professionals described this as an extreme problem or one they face regularly.
Financial difficulties can have a significant impact on other areas of life. For instance, 73% of actors and 66% of stage management professionals told us they had lost sleep because of money worries.
That’s why we’re introducing the Bounce Back Grant. Actors and stage management professionals can apply for a one-off grant to help cover unexpected costs and ease some of the financial pressure they may be facing.
Alongside – or instead of – a grant, applicants can also access a range of other support services, including counselling, money advice, and specialist signposting to organisations best equipped to help with whatever challenges they may be experiencing.
